Wendy Ni, O.D.
Dr. Wendy Ni, O.D., was born in Taiwan and moved to San Diego at the age of 9. She graduated with honors from University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor degree in Biochemistry. She received her Doctorate degree in Optometry with high honors from UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 2003. During her extensive optometric training, she worked at VA hospitals, ophthalmology clinics, and low vision facilities. She also enjoyed her externship abroad in China at Beijing Medical University in an effort to establish optometry in the country.
Dr. Ni practices full scope general optometry with specialized interests in ocular disease, contact lenses, and pediatric vision. She has conducted research in myopia to study the mechanism behind myopia development and treatments to slow its progression. She enjoys working with children to help control their nearsightedness. Dr. Ni is certified in corneal refractive therapy (CRT) and co-manages in refractive and cataract surgeries.
Dr. Ni is involved in various optometric organizations, including the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, and Santa Clara County Optometric Society.
Dr. Ni is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese. She also studied Spanish for a few years. She enjoys gardening, hiking, jogging, traveling, and taking care of her two boys. She loves to attend San Francisco Symphony concerts with her husband. Dr. Ni lives in Los Altos with her family and now practices in her very own private practice in downtown Los Altos. She wishes to give back to the community that she loves by providing the highest quality of eyecare and optical services.
